MARÉA.
The website is the brochure.
A design exploration of the modern luxury Mediterranean destination — cinematic, bilingual, conversion-engineered. We rebuilt how a destination brand turns a tourist on a phone into a property buyer at golden hour.
Visit the live demoA destination
that sells homes.
Most luxury destination websites treat every visitor the same. An investor researching a $2M villa and a backpacker booking a weekend get funneled through the same mega-menu. The booking flow is buried. The property funnel is parallel to tourism instead of feeding from it.
The exercise: design a Mediterranean destination brand whose website doesn't just inform — it converts. A site engineered around a single job: turn the tourist scrolling on their phone into a property buyer.
Cinematic, bilingual,
built to convert.
Nine sections. Five films. One funnel. Every screen earns its place.
Cinematic hero — 4K aerial film loop
No carousel of property photos. A single 4K cinematic aerial drone film that does what no still image can — make the viewer want to be there.
Tourist-to-buyer funnel
Booking flow above the fold for vacationers — but every screen plants the seed for ownership. Hotels lead to villas lead to "Own a piece of MARÉA."
Native Arabic from the ground up
Not a translation layer. Proper RTL, native Arabic typography (Tajawal + Amiri), full editorial copy parallel to the English. Built for GCC buyers, not retrofitted for them.
Five films, one color grade
Hero, hotel, residential lifestyle, town fabric, things-to-do — all shot to share the same warm Mediterranean palette. The whole site feels like one director made it.
USD price-lock + freehold yield
The two arguments serious overseas buyers make a destination decision on — surfaced as primary content, not buried in chips. Foreign-currency price stability, freehold ownership, projected rental yields.
SEO foundation built for long-tail
Schema markup, semantic HTML, hreflang routing, clean URLs. Designed to rank for the high-intent searches a buyer actually makes — not just the brand name.
Editorial pacing, magazine grid
Visual language drawn from Aman, Soho House, One&Only. Whitespace, real photography, quiet typography. The site tells a buyer they're in the right place before they read a word.
Mobile-first, sub-second LCP
Preloaded hero, lazy-loaded films, responsive video sources for desktop vs mobile, animations honoring prefers-reduced-motion. Designed for the thumb scroll, not the desktop preview.
MARÉA is a fictional luxury Mediterranean destination brand created by YMS Studio as a portfolio-grade design exploration. Not affiliated with any real destination, developer, or operator. All photography and video footage is licensed via Pexels (commercial-use license, no attribution required).
